Bazil Mwotta Biddemu is an Agriculture Enthusiast, Teacher, Social entrepreneur and Politician. At a very tender age, Mwotta harnessed an insatiable desire to impact positive change in his community. Having grown up in a predominantly farming community; Katiiti, Mpigi District, Mawokota, Mwotta interfaced directly how his mother as well as other farmers were being exploited by middle men who bought from them farm produce at cheap prices and sold to buyers in towns at exorbitant prices.

This gradually affected the livelihoods of these farmers whose sole source of income was and still is agriculture. In the bid to address this challenge, Mwotta started up AgroDuuka; a robust agricultural produce supply chain management software, supported by the Global System for Mobile communication that directly connects smallholder rural farmers to buyers in the market at a low cost via SMS and the internet, before and after harvest. AgroDuuka provides a platform for direct farmer-market interaction, a farmer can simply send a text message expressing intention to sell their farm produce prior to the harvesting period; a unique identification number is generated for the farmer by the AgroDuuka System. This message is displayed on the AgroDuuka interface where distinct buyers can view this information, place their offers, and make orders and the farmer can go ahead to directly connect with the buyer.
