Before the Bobi Wine effect! I only spoke about politics but did not include my mind any where in the equation. I spent the rest of my thoughts on my darling Chelsea FC but even when I supported Dr Kizza BESIGYE against President Museveni, I did not think that it was our time as young people below the age of 35years to influence the running of this country directly or indirectly.

I never imagined that we are the majority and make up 80% of the 45million people. I was not taken by a storm because I had read about many revolutions in the world and I was already exposed to the writings of great men of time like Franz Fanon, Napoleon the Great, Steve Biko, Mazzini the Charcoal burner and Ferhat Abas. However, the manner in which I perceived this literature was on an education basis. Little would that form of education open up to the fact that my society needed the same because that’s the intention of the Ugandan curriculum developer. They want to teach history and literature but the literature and history graduate is who they will censor on attempt to make his literature or history holistic by taking Makerere to the people.

There are usually debates about who is the most expensive European foot baller etc. Nonetheless, that’s to less a concern to our country. It benefits us less. Many a time we have been magnalised because of our past, even our generational leader has experience the same. Calling him a former drug addict and so on. But the world has seen many revolutionaries with a more stained past than Bobi Wine, George Kara a Greek revolutionary was a dealer in pigs. leading a revolution in a country where majority did not eat pork.
I have seen many of Museveni’s friends like Balaam Byarugaba telling the young people not to pay attention to politics because it’s a waste of time. It’s not about wasting time, it’s about how we can change our fortunes. We shall not all be friends to the president in order to benefit from this country. Our parents and grands have worked to better this country, we have no where to go. Even when we have, we shall never leave because of one individual.
